Fleetio generates Push Notifications and Email Notifications to ensure that the necessary Users are aware of outstanding Issues. Recall that Issues are one-time maintenance services or repairs, unlike Service Tasks which typically recur at a regular meter or date interval.
Issues may be Assigned to any Contacts, or to multiple Contacts, but Email Notifications can only be sent to those Contacts who are enabled as Users with a valid email address entered and confirmed.
In addition, any Users who are "Watching" the Vehicle may be set to automatically receive Notifications for new Issues (enabled by default).
Issue Watchers may also be configured to receive a notification when an Issue is Assigned, Resolved, or Closed, or when a Comment is added.
IMPORTANT: A User will not be sent a notification if they create, comment or assign an Issue to themselves, since they are the originator of the action. Additionally, a user that is @mentioned in a comment will NOT be automatically added as a Watcher on the record if they are not already watching the record. Therefore, they will not see others' comments unless someone mentions them again. The user WILL be added as a Watcher on the record if they leave a comment or reply to a mention
In addition, a daily digest email for Overdue Issues will be sent to the applicable Vehicle Watchers and/or Issue Watchers.
NOTE: Daily digest emails for Overdue Issues will be sent out each day at 7:00 am in the time zone configured in Account Settings for the organization. Users can manage preferences for the Overdue Issues Summary in User Notifications.
