Linking Assets establishes a relationship between separate Vehicles, trailers, or Tools in Fleetio. This allows you to record data and track maintenance for each asset separately, but still show the association between the assets.
Link Assets
To link assets in Fleetio:
- Click Vehicles in the Sidebar Navigation and select Vehicle List.
- Click on a Vehicle to view its Vehicle Details.
- Scroll down to find the Linked Assets card and click Link Asset.

- In the Link Asset pop-up window, use the drop-down menu to select the asset to link.
- When you're finished, click the Save button.

You'll now see the asset listed on the Linked Assets card on the Vehicle Details Page. Linked Vehicles will be listed under the Vehicles section and linked Tools under the Tools section. You can click on the assets to easily navigate to their pages in Fleetio.

Unlink Assets
To unlink a previously linked asset, navigate to the Vehicle Details page and locate the Linked Assets card. Click the More Actions Button next to the asset and select Unlink.
