When a User creates, updates, comments on, or is assigned to a record in Fleetio, they automatically become a watcher of that record. Watchers receive notifications about new activity on the record and can see filtered lists of their watched records throughout Fleetio.
NOTE: If the user is @mentioned in a comment, they will NOT be automatically added as a Watcher on the record if they are not already watching the record. Therefore, they will not see others' comments unless someone mentions them again. The user WILL be added as a Watcher on the record if they leave a comment or reply to a mention.
TIP: Configure Notification Settings to customize your notifications for specific events, including your preferred notification channels (email or push).
View Watched Records
Filter to view just your watched records on lists and indexes in Fleetio Go.
Start and Stop Watching
Watching happens automatically in the background as you interact with records in Fleetio. However, all watchable records offer the option to start or stop watching it.
TIP: Start Watching a record to receive notifications about new activity on the record. Stop Watching a record if you do not want updates on new activity.
Tap the Start Watching or Stop Watching button. If you do not see a button, tap the More Actions Button, and look for the Start Watching or Stop Watching option.
View Watchers
Watchable records show the count and list of Watchers. Tap Watchers in the Issue Detail section to view the list.
Automatic Watching
The Automatic Watching settings give you the option to automatically be added as a watcher when certain events occur.
To configure Automatic Watching:
- Tap your Profile Menu in the top right and then tap Notifications
- Tap Vehicles
- Tap Automatic Watching
Here, you can configure the following settings:
- Watch All New Vehicles - Automatically watch all new vehicles added to Fleetio that you have access to.
- Watch All New Records - Automatically watch new records associated with your watched Vehicles, such as Issues and Work Orders.
- Watch/unwatch all existing reminders - If enabled, you'll be automatically added as a watcher on existing Service Reminders and Vehicle Renewal Reminders for vehicles you are watching.
NOTE: Watching is available for Vehicles, Tools, Fuel Entries, Issues, Purchase Orders, Service Entries, Service Reminders, Vehicle Renewal Reminders, Contact Renewal Reminders, Vendors, Expense Entries, and Work Orders at this time.
