Ford Pro Telematics Integration

If you have an active Ford Pro Telematics subscription, Fleetio integrates with your Ford Pro Telematics devices.

This article explains how to set up the integration and map your Ford Pro Telematics devices to Fleetio Vehicles.

NOTE: An active Ford Pro Telematics subscription is required to set up this integration with Fleetio.

Ford Pro Telematics is a native integration and includes the following features:

Integration Feature Included
Primary Meter
Secondary Meter
Engine Faults/DTC
Vendor Location Alerts
Vehicle Location

To set up the Fleetio integration, you must provide your Secret Value and Client ID credentials from Ford Telematics.

To get your Secret Value and Client ID:

  1. Log into the Developer Portal in your Ford Pro Telematics account at developerportal.ford.com
  2. Click the Credential Management tab
  3. Click the Create New Service Account button
  4. Enter a Service Account Name, such as “Fleetio Integration”
  5. Enter a Secret Name, such as “Fleetio Integration Secret”
  6. Click Confirm
  7. Copy the Secret Value that appears in bold black font (do not click to create a new Secret Value) as well as the Client ID and copy to a Word Doc.

NOTE: Secret Values are only displayed once in the Ford Telematics UI, so it’s best to copy that first.

  1. A new user will be automatically created in your user tab in Ford Fleet Marketplace called “Ford Telematics” or “Fleetio Integration”. If you have created groups in FFM, you must add All Groups to that new user. (See below)

Add the Ford Fleet Marketplace User to Groups

To properly sync your integration to Fleetio, the user created in step 8 above must be added to any Group containing the Vehicles that will be synced with Fleetio via the integration:

In Ford Fleet Marketplace:

  1. Click Groups in the left sidebar

  1. Click on the Group containing the Vehicles you want to track in Fleetio, then click the Modify Users button that appears on the right.

  1. Select the checkbox for the Fleetio Integration user (from step 8 above), then click the Save Users button at the top of the page.

  1. Repeat this process for all Groups with Vehicles that you want to track in Fleetio.

Meter Units Supported

This integration supports both primary and secondary meter units in hours, miles, or kilometers when available.

Set the primary and/or secondary meter units appropriately on the Fleetio Vehicle, and the correct value will be imported.

Engine Faults/DTC

This integration syncs engine faults/DTCs hourly.

Data Frequency/Update Frequency

Historical Data

Fleetio does not pull any historical data from the integration. Only new data is imported after the initial configuration.

Data Update Frequency

Meter Entries and Vehicle Location updates are imported on a nightly basis, and may be manually refreshed at any time. A new Location Entry is only recorded if it has been more than 15 minutes since the previous entry.

Integration Setup

  1. Click Integrations in the Sidebar Navigation

  1. Click Telematics in the Integrations Directory sidebar

  1. Locate the Ford Pro Telematics tile and click the Connect button.

  1. Complete the entry form using the Secret Value and Client ID that you copied earlier and click Next.

Once the Secret Value and Client ID are entered, validated, and saved, the integration will begin to sync data starting from this point forward. This should only take a few minutes, and you will see the banner disappear from your Fleetio pages.
