Fleetio integrates with 4Refuel via API to import fuel transactions and meter data from 4Refuel into Fleetio.
NOTE: The 4Refuel Integration is only available for Fleetio plans that offer API access: Professional and Premium.

How it Works
The 4Refuel integration is an API integration that creates new Fuel Entries and Meter Entries in Fleetio.
For customers who opt in to the integration, these updates happen once per customer invoicing period, for each fueling event that is (1) listed in the invoice and (2) is for a vehicle record that has been linked in both the 4Refuel and Fleetio systems. These are done at invoicing time rather than fueling time to ensure that pricing information is accurate.
The integration allows automatic synchronization of fueling events between the two systems. Once customers have opted in (and confirmed to have matching VINs in both systems), they can receive all fueling events in their Fleetio system without any user input or technical infrastructure.
Thorough logging provides 4Refuel with information regarding the integration process, including any unexpected problems or suggestions that might be passed on to the customer (e.g., vehicles that are fueled but have no link in Fleetio; unexpected meter readings cause void entries).
Prepare Fleetio Vehicles
VINs are used to link vehicles across systems. In the 4Refuel user interface, this has historically been labelled as “Serial Number”. Make sure your VINs in Fleetio match the VINs in 4Refuel to properly sync data.
Once the integration is enabled, the vehicles’ IDs in Fleetio and other integrated systems will be visible in the 4Refuel user interface and equipment data exports. If more granular control is needed than the automatic VIN-matching above provides, these values can be manually set in the UI or requested as part of a bulk data upload.
Integration Setup
- To get started, first create a Fleetio API Key and Account Token.
- Contact 4Refuel and provide them with the Fleetio API Key and Account Token.A Fleetio API Key and Account Token. 4Refuel securely encrypts these and stores them for the integration's use.
NOTE: In order to generate non-void fuel entries, the customer must also provide credentials for a supported telematics systems to provide odometer readings for the time of the fueling events. 4Refuel currently supports Samsara to fill this role, though others could be added in the future.
