Custom Warranty Templates

With Custom Warranty Templates, you can create a warranty coverage template that can be quickly and easily applied to a single asset or multiple assets at once.

PERMISSIONS: Only Account Owners and Administrators can create custom Warranty Templates.

 

Add a Custom Warranty Template

To create a custom Warranty Template:

  1. Go to your Account Menu and select Settings

  1. In the Settings sidebar, select Warranty Templates in the Warranties section
  2. Click the + Add Warranty Template button

  1. Complete the New Warranty Template form, entering the Template and Coverage Details.

Template Details

In the Template Details section, enter a Name for your template, and choose the appropriate Meter Unit.

Both fields are required.

Coverage Details

In Coverage Details, enter the information about the warranty coverage.

Fields marked with an asterisk * are required.

  1. Warranty Name * - Enter the name of the warranty, for example, "Basic Warranty".
  2. Coverage Type * - Select Standard or Extended
  3. Description - Enter an optional description of the warranty
  4. Coverage Duration * - Must be a numerical value. Select Years or Months using the drop-down menu.
  5. Coverage Distance * - Must be a numerical value. Check the Unlimited checkbox if the Coverage Distance is unlimited.
  6. Manufacturer - The vehicle manufacturer
  7. Warranty Vendor - Use the drop-down to select a Vendor from your list of Vendors
  8. Contract ID - Enter the warranty contract ID if applicable
  9. Vendor Link - Enter a link to the Vendor's website if applicable

Maintenance Categorization

Applying Maintenance Categorization to a Warranty Coverage Template will show warranty claim opportunities in Work Orders when they include a Service Task with the same Maintenance Categorization code. See Add Work Orders for more information.

Click the + Add Maintenance Categorization button.

Select a Category and then use the checkboxes to select the System and Assembly codes that are covered by the warranty.

  1. Use the Select All checkboxes to select all System or Assembly codes
  2. Use the Search fields to quickly locate a System or Assembly code
  3. When you're finished, click Save.

Adding Additional Coverage and Managing Coverages

When you're finished adding Coverage Details, click Create & Add Another to keep the form open to add more coverage, or click Create Coverage to save.

  • You can also click the More Actions Button to edit or clear Maintenance Categorization codes.

You can now review the coverage you've added in the Coverage Details section.

Click the More Actions Button to Edit or Delete coverage.

When you're ready, click Save Warranty Template to save and return to the Warranty Templates page in Settings.

Manage Custom Warranty Templates

On the Warranty Templates page in your Account Settings, you can see the Custom Warranty Templates for your organization and the number of coverages for each.

Click the More Actions Button to Edit or Delete a Custom Warranty Template.

Applying Warranty Templates to Assets

Custom Warranty Templates can be applied to your assets individually or to multiple assets at once.

Select your Custom Warranty Template name from the Coverage Template drop-down in the Warranty Details form.
