  • Provide a time frame for users to complete certification courses (for example, during onboarding or within their first weeks).
  • Reinforce the learning with live sessions or team discussions when possible.
  • Encourage users to revisit the Fleetio Academy materials when workflows change or new features launch.
  • Use the available PDFs, video tutorials, or on-demand webinars as training aids.

Training Plan for Fleet Managers

Goal: Equip Fleet Managers to lead their teams, configure platform settings, and monitor activity within Fleetio.

Start with:

  • Fleet Manager certification course

Suggested follow-up activities:

  • Watch an on-demand webinar and discuss how it applies to your organization.
    • Example: Watch the “A Day in the Life of a Fleet Manager” webinar and ask, “How does using Fleetio work orders change the way our team communicates and tracks repairs?”
  • Review select video tutorials to strengthen understanding of specific components in Fleetio.
    • Example: Watch the “Reports Overview” video and consider which reports will benefit your organization.
  • Use the guide resources to further hone understanding of the role.
    • Example: Review the “Fleet Manager’s Manual” to uncover tools for tracking key data and improving fleet processes. Ask, "How do we apply these functions? Do we do anything different from the Fleetio standard way?"

Encouragement Tip: Ask Fleet Managers to serve as internal champions of the Fleetio Academy by introducing it to new team members and reinforcing certification and training.

Training Plan for Drivers

Goal: Help Drivers use the Fleetio Go mobile app with confidence to complete inspections, report issues, and log fuel.

Start with:

  • Driver certification course

Suggested follow-up activities:

  • Ask Drivers to demonstrate how to log in to Fleetio Go and perform a sample inspection.
    • Example: Use the guide resources tip sheet on inspections as a post-training reference.
  • Schedule a ride-along or shadowing opportunity to encourage Drivers to apply what they learned in the certification course.
    • Example: Practice reporting an issue using Fleetio Go.

Encouragement Tip: Reinforce the importance of inspections by recognizing Drivers who complete their training and follow your organization’s operating procedures.

Training Plan for Technicians

Goal: Train Technicians to use Fleetio Go to manage work orders, track parts usage, and complete service tasks efficiently.

Start with:

  • Technician certification course

Suggested follow-up activities:

  • View a video tutorial and discuss to clarify expectations.
    • Example: Use the video tutorial “Clock in and out of Work Orders in Fleetio Go” to learn how to track the time it takes to complete a service task accurately.
  • Reference a guide resource during team huddles or meetings.
    • Example: Highlight key points of Part 2: Repair in the guide resource “Fleetio’s Top Articles of 2024” to hone in on a few ways managers and technicians can work together to improve asset uptime, as well as shop safety and productivity.

Encouragement Tip: Technicians often prefer hands-on learning. Use the certification as a foundation and reinforce it through a job-based application.
