Accurate fuel economy calculation depends on correct sequential order of Fuel Entries, where the difference in odometer values between two entries is used to calculate distance.
Fuel entries which have been input with errors, edited, or moved out of date sequence may result in incorrect fuel calculations. While Fleetio does update all new calculations in the background, a Recalculate process is available to fully resolve any inconsistencies.
Once you have identified an inaccuracy and corrected any corresponding Fuel Entries, navigate to the Vehicle Overview and click the Fuel History tab.
Then, select the More Actions menu and select Recalculate All Fuel Entries.

- Recalculate Only
- Validate and Recalculate

NOTE: Your distance and measurement units (e.g. miles, kilometers, gallons, liters) will vary depending on your User Settings
The Recalculate Only option will re-run fuel calculations for all of this Vehicle's Fuel Entries for distance per volume (e.g. MPG) and cost per distance. This recalculation has no effect on Void fuel entries, and omits these in the resulting values. Recalculate Only is the correct procedure if you manually Mark as Void or UN-Mark as Void any Fuel Entry, so that Fleetio can take the change into account.
The Validate and Recalculate option adds a check to validate the meter sequence, correct any entries which have been incorrectly Voided and then re-run fuel calculations. Fleetio uses intelligent logic to analyze all meter values in sequence. Entries are compared with transactions both before and after in order to confirm a correct value.
EXAMPLE: In the following sequence of entries, the third meter entry will be Marked as Void
- 1,200
- 1,400
- 200,000
- 1,500
- 1,600
